- Bijoy Mathew, M.D., M.P.H. received his M.D. degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1998. He completed two years of Residency training in Pediatrics in 2000 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, N and a residency in Preventive Medicine in 2001 at the New York Department of Health before beginning his psychiatry training at Columbia University’s New York State Psychiatric Institute, in New York City. He completed his residency in General Psychiatry in 2004, and his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2005. He moved to the Boston area shortly after this training was completed, and since then has been working primarily in community mental health settings. From 2005 until 2011, Dr. Mathew worked in full time practice of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NRI Community Services in Woonsocket, RI. As part of his work at NRI, he also served as a Consultant for a Early Child Day Treatment program and worked in school health clinics at the local middle and high school. He also served as a consultant for the Shepherd Program, at St. Mary’s Home for Children, in N. Warwick, RI – a program focused primarily on child survivors of sexual abuse. Since 2011, Dr. Mathew began work in Massachusetts. After working briefly at UMass Medical School/Worcester State Hospital as the Medical Director of the Behavioral Intensive Residential Treatment Program, he switched again to a community agency, and has been working since 2012 as a staff psychiatrist for Y.O.U. Inc., in Worcester, MA. Current responsibilities at Y.O.U. Inc. relate only to outpatient psychiatric care, but Dr. Mathew has also worked through this agency at an adolescent residential unit and at a group home for children/teens with behavioral problems. Prior to joining PCA, Dr. Mathew was also working at the COSI Counseling Centers in Chelmsford and Newton, MA with adult patients. Dr. Mathew will provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment services for children, adolescents and adults at PCA’s Framingham Office.
