Stephen G. Slaten, Ph.D.

Stephen G. Slaten, Ph.D. joined PCA in 2014.  Dr. Slaten received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Houston in 1982 and trained at South Shore Mental Health Center in Quincy, MA. He has held staff, consulting, supervisory and administrative positions in community mental health centers, private clinics, hospital out-patient departments, and in veteran’s affairs since 1985.  Prior to joining PCA, Dr. Slaten served as Executive Director of Jewish Family Services in Worcester for fourteen years where he oversaw and created programs including child and family counseling, adoption coordination, education for divorcing parents, guardian ad litem and elder services, among others.  He has been involved in a variety of professional and community efforts including Healthcare for All, a consumer advocacy organization, The Red Cross’ Massachusetts Disaster Response Network, the Children’s Mental Health Campaign and Summit Eldercare Ethics Committee.  He has also served in leadership positions on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Psychological Association and the Massachusetts Council of Family Service Agencies.  Dr.  Slaten provides psychological evaluation and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, families and adults at PCA’s Stoneham & Arlington Offices, and beginning in July, 2015 will join the staff at PCA’s new Framingham Office.
