Christopher Welch, PsyD

Christopher Welch, PsyD, earned his doctorate from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in 2005. He trained at DeKalb County School System in Georgia, conducting assessment of students in elementary through high school for placement in psychoeducation centers, as well as at Clayton County Community Mental Health Center in Riverdale, GA, where he provided therapy for children and adolescents. Dr. Welch worked as a psychometrist at Spectrum Psychological Services in Atlanta, GA, completing psychological assessments of children with suspected emotional or learning disabilities. He also trained as both a therapist and psychometrist from 2000-2003 at Cooper Psychological Services in Georgia, providing individual therapy and assessment to children, adolescents and adults. Following his time there, Dr. Welch completed an internship at Crestwood Children’s Center in Rochester, NY, where he provided individual, group and family therapy for children and adolescents in the Specialized Day Treatment Program. Dr. Welch completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Somerville Mental Health Center before joining the group as a licensed psychologist in 2014, providing individual, family and group therapy in a variety of settings with both children and adolescents. Prior to joining PCA, Dr. Welch worked as an outpatient therapist at Azimuth Psychological in Boston for 5 years, providing individual therapy to young adults and adults. Dr. Welch provides evaluation and treatment of pre-teens, adolescents, and adults in PCA’s Arlington office.
