Emily Beatty, LICSW

Emily Beatty, MSW, LICSW provides evidenced-based treatment including CBT, DBT skills training, and narrative therapy as approaches to treating anxiety, mood disorders (bipolar, depression), trauma, grief, and substance use. She has experience using harm reduction and motivational interviewing in treatment of a multitude of substance use problems and partners with psychopharmacologists in creatively using psychotherapy and medication (both eastern and western informed medicine).  Ms. Beatty is trained in psychodynamic approaches to trauma, including systemic family and attachment therapy modalities, along with mindfulness and holistic healing. She has over 12 years’ experience administratively and clinically overseeing community-based programs including those for people with mental illness, substance use, crisis intervention services, and outpatient counseling for children, families, and adults.  She is passionate about community social justice and the de-stigmatization of mental health disorders. alleviating the internalization of oppression that further complicates trauma and depression.

Emily Beatty, MSW, LICSW obtained her master’s degree in social work from Simmons College and did post master’s work with children and families around crisis management and attachment/adoptions, private PACT and outpatient services, crisis intervention with adults, substance use work in Chelsea, and community-based work on the South Shore and the North Shore of Boston as team leader and regional director. Ms. Beatty provides treatment for adults and is the Director of PCA’s Concord office.
