Philip Simkowitz, MD, PhD

Philip Simkowitz, MD, PhD joined PCA in 2013.  He earned his MD in 1985 and PhD in 1988 from Columbia University in New York, NY and received his Residency Training at New York University School of Medicine.  He is Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and held certification in Forensic Psychiatry from 1999 to 2009.  Since 1988 Dr. Simkowitz has served in the capacities of Clinical Research Director of the Millhauser Clinic in the Department of Psychiatry of NYU Medical Center and as a Staff Psychiatrist at Manhattan Psychiatric Center and the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, and Attending Psychiatrist at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.  He has worked in private practice of Psychopharmacology and Psychotherapy in New York and as a consultant on Continuing Medical Education course development.  Dr. Simkowitz has served as Attending Psychiatrist and Medical Director of the Secure Assessment Unit at The Cambridge Hospital, and has been an Attending Psychiatrist and Director of the Continuing Medical Education Committee at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, MA since 2001.  Dr. Simkowitz provides psychopharmacological evaluation and management services for adults at PCA’s Arlington and Chelmsford offices.
